WOW! I've once again let time slip away from me. Seems like just yesterday we celebrated and I posted on beautiful baby J's 6 month birthday. How time has flown! The past four months have definitely been eventful...I guess so much so that I forgot to blog. I've occasionally jotted things down in my old journal, but won't put you through reading my day by day happenings...instead I'll give you a fly-by of the past few months...
August 23, 2010 -- First day of my 4th year of teaching!!!
The first day of school is always nerve-racking for me. I have to remind myself to "not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God." Philippians 4:4-7, 13. Everyday I pray on my way to school that God give me strength, patience, and understanding to get through the day if trials should come my way. Last year was quite challenging. The happenings of last year really made me take a step back and ask myself if teaching was my true passion. The more I prayed about it, the more I was pointed back into that direction. I ran into one of my former students over the summer...She literally came running down the isle of HEB and gave me the biggest hug ever. She was the student who always gave me attitude and seemed to not care about how much I cared for her. After she let go of hugging me, she kept saying how much she missed my teaching and how I much she missed my help in math. She said she's lost in 5th grade and hasn't had another teacher to help her like I did. WOW!!! If that doesn't lead me back to classroom, I don't know what will. She was truly a God-wink this past summer...and here I am in my 4th year of teaching!!!
October 2, 2010 -- Cody's Memorial Fishing Tournament
What a bitter-sweet weekend...the fishing tournament was a HUGE success and truly honored Cody in such an amazing way. Cody's presence was definitely felt when Clayton's team won, and Michael won the big raffle prize. It was an incredibly, wonderfully, exhausting weekend.
October 30, 2010 -- "Every good and perfect gift is from above..." James 1:17
November 6, 2010 -- "Give thanks in ALL circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." 1 Thessalonians 5:18
November 15, 2010 -- My wonderful hubster and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary!!! On my conference that day, I sat and thought about what life was like before I met BJ...I honestly can't remember. I can't imagine not coming home to his handsome smile and beautiful blue eyes every day...I can't imagine not feeling his arms holding me tight at the end of a long day...I can't imagine him not scarring me every time I try to wipe something off his face...I can't imagine not hearing his lazy moan in the morning when I turn the light on and make him get out of bed...I can't imagine who I'd be if I didn't have him. In Ecclesiastes 4:9 it says "Two are better than one." We are definitely quite a pair!!! I am truly blessed to have BJ..."I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you. I love you not only for what you have made of yourself, but for what you are making of me. I love you for the part of me that you bring out."
So that's pretty much the past 4 months in a nut shell...not too exciting, but still were all Everyday Ellison happenings. I can't promise I'll stay on track with posting, but I will say I have a better chance of staying up-to-date with the holidays coming...school teacher + the holidays = TIME OFF!!!! :)
